Call to Confession
If we are to worship God with a right spirit and if we are to receive God’s generous gifts as blessings and not as a curse, we need the heart of the psalmist.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
See if there is any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.”  (Psalm 139:23-24)
Let us pray together after a moment of silent confession.

Lord, we are like sheep, and we get lost.
We forget the needs of our neighbors and do not love you above all else.
We need a Savior, so we long for Jesus.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
We welcome the Van Dam family to Valley Church this morning.  They plan to return as a family to Haiti this Tuesday.  In addition to a brief update on their ministry and plans, we will be commissioning them for this next term of service.  You are welcome to stay after the service for a pot luck lunch and more opportunity to interact with the Van Dam family.
We are observing the Lord’s Supper this morning.   Communion is a blessing to all who have professed Jesus as their personal Savior and who are living in obedience to his lordship.  If this describes you, please join us in receiving the bread and juice as they are passed and eating and drinking with the rest after all have been served.

MORNING WORSHIP:  10:00 AM   Pastor Gelder will lead our worship, continuing the observance of “Ordinary Time”, especially “Family Time.”  The focus this week is on “Marriage”, based on Genesis 2:18-25.
At this service we will also welcome the Joel De Young family into full membership in Valley Church.  Joel and Jenni will confess/reaffirm their faith and Jacob and Kailee will be baptized.
