Call to Worship –
Arise, shine, for you light has come!
The glory of the Lord has risen upon us.
Let us praise the Lord together.
The sun shall no longer be our light by day,
Nor will the brightness of the moon shine on us,
For the Lord will be our light,
And our God will be our glory.
The Lord will be our everlasting light,
And our days of sorrow will end.

Call to Confession –
The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.  Let us confess our sin to God.  (John 3:19)
Prayer of Confession –
O God, our guide, who once used a star to lead people to Christ, we confess our poor sense of direction.  We let ourselves become confused, easily distracted, and lose our way.  We fail to follow the signs you provide.  Forgive our waywardness, O God.  Lead us to the Christ so that we may follow his way to you.  Amen.
Assurance of Pardon –
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.  To all who have received him, to those who believe in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.  (John 1:9, 12)

In preparation for Small Group Sunday on January 21, this Sunday and next we will be revisiting Katie’s Koffee House.  If you were with us during the 40 Days of Purpose, you will remember Katie.  We are glad she is continuing to follow her Lord and it will be good to catch up with her to see what God is doing in her life.

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  9:45 AM Sunday School classes for all ages.  The adults continue the study of the life of David, “A King under Construction”.

MORNING WORSHIP:     11:00 AM   Our worship will be led by Pastor Gelder. The message this week will be “Jesus:  The Miracle Worker” based on Mark 2:1-12.  We will also celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion.  All who have publicly professed faith in Jesus and who are living for him are invited to join in the sacrament.  Talk with the pastor or an elder if you have any questions about your participation.
