WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship – a time of music and meditation

Welcome

*Call to Worship –
Leader: Sing a new song to the Lord, who has worked wonders,
whose right hand and holy arm have brought salvation.
People: The Lord has made known salvation; has shown justice
to the nations; has remembered truth and love
for the house of Israel.
Leader: All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation
of our God.
People: Shout to the Lord, all the earth, sing out your joy.
Leader: Sing psalms to the Lord with the harp,
with the sound of music.
People: With trumpets and the sound of the horn
acclaim the King, the Lord.

*Opening Hymn – 389 “Come, You Faithful, Raise the Strain”

*We Greet Others

*Continuing Praise

WE CONFESS OUR SINS

Call to Confession –
Leader: We know that nothing is able to separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ. Let us in freedom confess the wrong we have done.

Prayer of Confession –
Leader: Almighty God, we confess how hard it is to be your people.
You have called us to be the church, to continue the
mission of Jesus Christ to our lonely and confused world.
People: Yet we acknowledge we are too often more apathetic than
active, isolated than involved, callous than compassionate,
obstinate than obedient, legalistic than loving.
Leader: Gracious Lord, have mercy upon us and forgive our sins.
Remove the obstacles preventing us from being your
representatives to a broken world.
People: Awaken our hearts to the promised gift of your
indwelling Spirit. This we pray in Jesus’ powerful name.
Amen.

Assurance of Pardon –
Leader: God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved – and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
