WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship
*Call to Worship –
Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
O magnify the Lord with me.
Let us exalt God’s name together!

Call to Confession
Seeing that we have a great High Priest who has entered the inmost heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us therefore approach the throne of grace with fullest confidence, that we may receive mercy for our failures and grace to help in the hour of need.  In the strength of this assurance, let us confess our sins to God.
Prayer of Confession
           (A time of silent prayer.)
Hear us, O merciful God, as we come to you.
           Lord, have mercy.
           Christ, have mercy.
           Lord, have mercy.
Assurance of Pardon
           Hear the good news:
This saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.  He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might be dead to sin, and alive to all that is good.
I declare to you in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
Thanks be to God.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

We are continuing to offer a modified children’s worship time during July and August.  We need two people each Sunday (perhaps one adult and one teen) to supervise.  If you can help out, please sign up using the sheet that is in the entry.  Thanks.

Kids for Christ will be having their first summer activity this Saturday, July 12, 2:00 – 5:00 PM at Martinichio’s, 403 Port Road.  If you plan to participate, please sign the sheet for that in the entry so they can know how many to plan for.

Pastor Gelder will be having thyroid surgery on Monday morning.  The plan is that he will return home on Tuesday, but he will probably be out of the office for a few days.  Pray for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.

Wednesday, 11:30 AM  Women’s luncheon at Ponderosa on Front St.

Please check your mail folder for weekly updates on the Sea to Sea bike tour (as well as other materials that may have been distributed there.)

The Willow Creek Summit will again be available via satellite in the Syracuse area and a group from Valley Church will attend.  This year’s dates are Thursday and Friday, August 7 and 8.  Let Pastor Gelder know if you are interested in attending or want more information. We’d appreciate it if you could pay $75 toward the cost of the conference; the church will pay the rest.

Youth Announcements:  The camping and river rafting trip is July 13-15.  See Erin Peterson for more details.

NEXT SUNDAY, July 13, 2008

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  There are NO Sunday School classes until September 7.

MORNING WORSHIP:     10:00 AM  Pastor Gelder plans to bring the message, continuing the summer series on the Lord’s Prayers.  The message is “Lift High the Name” based on Matthew 6:9b.  We will also be celebrating Holy Communion.  Take time this week to examine your own heart and life so you can receive this gift from God joyfully.

The second offering next Sunday is for Christian Reformed Home Missions and their work of church planting and ministry support across Canada and the US.
