WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship
*Call to Worship
We will give thanks to you, O Lord, with our whole heart;
we will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
We will be glad and exult in you;
we will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

Call to Confession
We cannot come before God unless we are first honest with ourselves about who we are, about the mistakes we make, and about how well or poorly we care for others. In this spirit, let us offer our prayers to God.
Prayer of Confession
Lord, we are like sheep, and we get lost. We forget the needs of our neighbors and do not love you above all else. We need a Savior, so we long for Jesus. Come, fill our lives, Jesus. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon (Sunday School class)
He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household.” (Acts 16:30-31)
Why do you say that you are right with God (justified) only by faith?
Because I can’t take credit before God for any of the good things I do, not even for my own faith. Only Christ’s goodness and obedience can make me right with God. This becomes mine only by God’s grace through my faith.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The middle school Sunday School class taught by Erin Peterson will be sharing some of their memory work as an assurance of pardon in our liturgy this morning.
The second offering today is for Christian Reformed World Missions and specifically for salary support for the Van Dam family as they continue serving in Haiti. They are always so encouraged by our prayers and generous financial support.

Thursday, 7:30 PM Worship Team meets
Friday, 6:00 PM Benefit Spaghetti Dinner
Saturday, 6:30 PM Valentine’s Dinner
The Valley Church Valentine’s Dinner will be on Saturday, February 12 at 6:30 PM. All adults are invited. You are asked to bring a pasta dish, salad, bread or a gooey, chocolate drenched dessert. There’s a signup sheet on the door and several members of the Fellowship Team will be circulating after the service today with others sheets and to answer any questions you may have.
You are invited to attend a spaghetti dinner benefit for the Mike and Beth Komaromi family on Friday, February 11 from 6-8 PM. The dinner will be here at Valley Church and is sponsored by the teachers and staff at the Harshaw primary school where Beth was working as a classroom aide before her heart troubles. This is another way we can show our support for this family in this difficult time in their lives. Thankfully, Beth has been doing quite well, but ongoing trips to Rochester and careful monitoring of her heart are still needed.
You can still start to fill a baby bottle with your loose change to benefit the Life Choices Center of Binghamton, a Christian ministry which not only provides an alternative to abortion but also helps parents after the baby is born with layettes, parenting training, and counseling as needed. Your generous support is always appreciated. There are a few empty bottles remaining at the coffee service area in the narthex.
NEXT SUNDAY, February 13, 2011
SUNDAY SCHOOL: 9:15 AM Classes for all ages meet. The adult class concludes the study of the book of Daniel. There’s always room for you in a class.
MORNING WORSHIP: 10:30 AM Pastor Gelder will bring us God’s Word. He will continue the message series from the Sermon on the Mount, “Kingdom Living”. We will look at Matthew 6:25-34, “Live Boldly”.
We will also celebrate Holy Communion at this service. Take time this week to examine your heart and life so you can come to Communion ready to receive the gift of God’s grace conveyed in it. You can talk with the pastor or an elder if you have questions concerning your participation.
