The spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me;

We light these candles as a sign of our waiting in hope and with love for the coming Christ.

Saturday, 5:30 PM Parents’ Night Out

Parents’ Night Out returns this Saturday from 5:30 – 8:30 PM.  If you can help staff this event, please talk with Janet Crawford or Erin Peterson today.  Also, please sign up your children today or no later than Friday morning so we will have adequate staff and supplies for them.

The children’s church group is busy working on the Christmas pageant that will be presented during morning worship on Sunday, Dec. 20.  Thanks to all who are helping get this ready.
The Live Nativity will be presented on Saturday, December 19 at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 PM.  We can always use more “townspeople” for the production.  And, of course, we will need your help in baking cookies and other goodies to serve with coffee and hot cocoa between the presentations.  More details and sign ups next week.  Also, parents, there will be a dress rehearsal on Friday, December 18.  Keep this time free as well.
At the congregational meeting last Wednesday, the 2010 budget of $142,093 was adopted as presented by the Finance team and council.  A number of ministry reports were presented.  34 members attended.
NEXT SUNDAY, December 13, 2009
SUNDAY SCHOOL:  9:15 AM There are classes for all ages.  The adult class continues studying the book of Revelation using a video series “God Wins”.  The focus will be on Rev. 20 “And He Shall Reign for a Thousand Years”.

MORNING WORSHIP: 10:30 AM   This is the third Sunday in Advent.  Pastor Gelder continues a series of messages focusing on some of the Advent symbols, this week seeing “The Shepherd’s Staff” from Psalm 23 and John 10:11.

We will be celebrating an Advent Communion service.  Since Advent is the time of looking forward to Jesus’ second coming, we need to take time to examine our hearts and lives so we will be ready for his coming, also as we meet Jesus at the Lord’s Supper.
