ANNOUNCEMENTS

Worship this morning includes celebration of both sacraments Jesus gave to his church.  Matt and Shannon Lamb are presenting Nathan Kenneth Lamb for baptism.  May God bless them as they claim God’s promises for Nathan and as they commit to faithfully training him in God’s ways.  We will also receive Holy Communion.  If you have publicly professed Jesus as your Savior and are living for him as your Lord, please receive the bread and cup as they are passed to you where you are seated.

We are pleased to welcome David and Sara Bosscher to Valley Church this morning.  They will be providing summer worship and ministry leadership.  We will commission David to his work as our summer intern, recognizing also Sara’s role in ministry.  The refreshments following the service will give you opportunity to meet and welcome them, while also allowing those who cannot be at the retirement festivities for the Gelders later in June to say farewell to them too.

The annual spring congregational meeting is this Tuesday, June 7 at 7:00 PM.  We hope all Valley families will be represented at this meeting.  There will be an update from the pastor search team and other teams, as well as approval of the slate of nominees for council members.  One elder, Florence Doller, and one deacon, David Derzanovich, have agreed to extend their terms for an added year.  We have two nominees for elder (George de Jager and Paul Peterson).  There are no nominees at this time for the other deacon position being vacated.  Council is continuing to seek more nominees for vacant positions and will call a special meeting once nominees are available.
