WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship
Call to Worship –
It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your name, O Most High,
to proclaim your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night.

*God Greets Us
*We Greet Each Other
*Continuing Praise – “We Bow Down”
A Prayer of Lament (from Psalm 22:1-11)
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from the words of my groaning?
My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
by night, but I find no rest.
Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the praise of Israel.
In you our ancestors put their trust;
they trusted and were not disappointed.
But I am a worm, not a human being;
I am scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
All who see me mock me;
they hurl insults, shaking their heads.
“He trusts in the Lord,” they say,
“let the Lord rescue him.
Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.”
Yet you brought me out of the womb;
you made me feel secure on my mother’s breast.
From birth I was cast on you;
from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
Do not be far from me, for trouble is near
and there is no one to help.

THIS WEEK IN THE LIFE OF VALLEY CHURCH
Tuesday, 7:00 PM Growth and Renewal Team meets
Friday, 6:30 PM Valentine’s dinner
Saturday, 5:00 PM Parents’ Night Out
This Friday evening is the adult Valentine’s dinner. Come at 6:30 PM for punch and conversation and dinner will be ready at 7:00 PM. See Edele Thompson or Jan Patak to sign up and to find out what you can bring
Parents’ Night Out is this Saturday, once again from 5-8 PM. It really helps the planning if you sign up your children in advance so the organizers can be sure there are enough crafts and snacks and enough staff as well. There is a sign up sheet on the door as you leave. If you know of friends who would like an evening away from their children for an early Valentine’s dinner, invite them and ask them to call the church (648-8224) to sign up their children no later than Friday morning. As always, if you can help in any way, let Erin Peterson know.
The second offering next Sunday will be for Christian Reformed World Missions and specifically for support of the Van Dam family and their ministries in Haiti. Please give generously and accompany your gift with prayer.
Plans for the Franklin Graham Festival coming in June are progressing well. Prayer continues to be a priority. Please use the prayer card that was distributed last week as you support all the preparation with your prayers. There will be many other opportunities to be involved in the Festival, including training for evangelism and counseling, singing in the choir, and helping out directly the days of the festival. If you want more information, you can talk with Al or Jan Gelder, Bill Kutz or Edele Thompson.
Continue to pray for God’s presence to comfort those who have lost loved ones recently. Also, please pray for the Bruster family. Ken has been in the cardiac care unit at Wilson hospital for nearly ten weeks, which is very wearing on Jane and the family as well. Pray that they will receive wisdom as they make decisions concerning Ken’s care.
