Today is our third annual Fall Festival as we welcome our neighbors and friends to Valley Church for an afternoon of fun and fellowship (and free food!)  Festivities will begin at 1:00 and wrap up around 4:30.  There will be pizza available after the service for those who are staying to help set up the games and activities.  There is a place for everyone to help out, especially for people to welcome our guests.  Pray that all who come will see a positive picture of what life in the body of Christ can be as we shine Christ’s light in our valley.

Because of the Fall Festival today, the afternoon “Follow Me” class will NOT meet this week.  It will resume next Sunday at 5:00 PM.

The second offering today is for Christian Reformed World Missions and specifically to help with salary support for the Van Dams in Haiti.

Remember to bring your empty shoe boxes to church in the next couple weeks so the Sunday School classes can fill them for Operation Christmas Child.  This outreach of Samaritan’s Purse provides gifts and basic supplies for children in many poor communities world wide, done in the name of Christ.

The finance team reminds all the other ministry teams that they are beginning the planning for the 2008 budget and need all team proposals by October 15.  Thanks for your cooperation.

We extend our sympathy to the Martinichio family on the death of Gina’s grandmother.  Services are being held this evening in Harpursville.

Dick Crawford is still limited to his home this week while continuing to receive more antibiotics to make sure the serious infection doesn’t recur.

Next Sunday, September 30, 2007

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  9:45 AM   Classes for all ages.  The adult class continues the discipleship series “Follow Me”.  There will be a repeat class offered at 5:00 PM for those unable to be at the morning class.

MORNING WORSHIP:     11:00 AM   Pastor Gelder will lead our worship, continuing the series on being a disciple of Jesus.  The message “The Making of a Disciple” will be based on Ephesians 2:1-10 and 4:1-6.
