ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our worship this morning includes the reception into membership of the Pierre-Louis family.  Kenny and Cherly will reaffirm their faith.  Kenny and the girls Kendya and Cheryska will be baptized at a later date.  We thank God for leading them to Valley Church.

The refreshments after the service this morning not only honor the Pierre-Louis family but also recognize the June wedding anniversaries of Terry and Lor Recker-Woodnorth (35 years on June 7), Pete and Linda Lowell (25 years on June 8), John and Barb Komaromi (35 years on June 27), and Dave and Luci Huizinga (30 years on June 28).  Congratulations to all.

There is a second offering today to support the mission work of Barth and Janine Chapman in Taiwan.  Generous giving in this offering will be a big encouragement to them as they carry on a ministry God is blessing.

The Christian Fellowship Breakfast associated with the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open golf tournament is this Thursday, June 24, 7:30 AM.  Tickets, which include admission to the pro-am that day, are still just $10.00.  We will again have a designated table for Valley folk and friends.  Today is the last day to get your tickets from Ron Crawford.

We need your help with children’s church for the summer months.  The summer program involves showing and discussing a video and serving a snack.  The videos for each week are listed on the sign up sheet on the door.  This is a great opportunity for people who do not usually teach a class or lead the children’s church to give the regulars a break.  Sign up for a week or two – the list is on the door.

Graduation Sunday will be observed next Sunday, June 27.  To make sure we don’t miss any of our high school or college graduates, please place their names on the sheet on the door as you leave today.  Thank you.

Jerry Krempel has been in Wilson Hospital most of the week.  Doctors are dealing with an infection as well as his continuing weakness.  Pray for daily grace for both Jerry and his family.

NEXT SUNDAY, June 27, 2010
MORNING WORSHIP:  10:00 AM   Pastor Gelder will lead our worship, concluding the series of messages on “Creation Care”, a biblical view of our responsibility to care for the world God made.  The message will focus on “A Great Responsibility” based on Genesis 2:15.
This will be Graduation Sunday.  We will recognize our graduates for their accomplishment but also challenge them to use their education to be better stewards with us all of the resources God has provided us in the creation.
Softball game at 4:00 PM at Schnurbusch Park in Conklin, playing the team from St. John/St. Andrew.
