Call to Confession
The risen Jesus is still the living Savior. He who loved us then loves us still. Confident in this relationship, we open our hearts and lives to the all-seeing, all-knowing gaze of God Almighty.
Prayer of Confession
Almighty God, you raised Jesus from the grave and crowned him Lord of all.
We confess that too often we do not bow before him or acknowledge his rule in our lives. We go along with the way of the world and fail to give you glory.
Forgive us and raise us from sin, that we may be your faithful people, obeying the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ, who rules the world and is head of the church his body.
Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
When we were dead in trespasses, God made us alive together with Christ, when he forgave us all our trespasses and erased the record that stood against us with its legal demands. He set this aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and made a public example of them triumphing over them in it. (from Colossians 2:13-15)
