THIS WEEK IN THE LIFE OF VALLEY CHURCH

This morning our worship is enriched as the Sunday School children present the Easter musical “An Easter Miracle.”  We offer a big “thank you” to all the children who worked so hard to prepare this material, as well as to the Sunday School teachers and support staff who so willingly did extra duty in getting this all ready.  There will be light refreshments after the service when you can thank the children and adults for the good work they have done.

Last Sunday morning we introduced Operation Andrew, encouraging everyone to identify people who need to meet Jesus, to pray for them daily, and to look for ways to invite them to attend the Franklin Graham Festival next June.  If you did not start a list or turn in your commitment card last Sunday, you can do so today.  There are extra copies of the Operation Andrew brochure on the table in the entry.  After you tear off the commitment card, you can place it with the others in the fish net on the table in the front of the sanctuary.

One of the best gifts a Graham Festival gives to the churches of a community is the Christian Life and Witness class which is taught in different locations around the area.  The bulletin insert this week gives you information concerning times and locations for the classes.  We’d love to see the majority of Valley’s members take the classes.  They are required for those who want to be a counselor at the Festival but they are also a great tool for every Christian.  Prayerfully consider your response to this opportunity.

Holy Week services:
Maundy Thursday Communion service, 7:30 PM
Good Friday community worship, 7:00 PM - Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church.
Easter services:
7:30 AM Early worship on the lawn, weather permitting.
8:30 – 10:30 AM Easter breakfast served

The second offering Easter morning is for Christian Reformed Home Missions.  Let us be generous with our giving as we join other Christian Reformed churches across the US and Canada in supporting this agency which helps plant new churches and supports campus ministries while encouraging existing churches to become more focused on making disciples of all people.

Join us for the Easter breakfast next Sunday between the Sunrise Service and the morning service.  New this year – PANCAKES!  Sign the sheet by the door as you leave this morning so we know how much food to prepare.

We are thankful that Harriet Dimidio (Marsha Conrad’s mother) was able to return home after spending a few days in the hospital last weekend.  May God bless her with strength and renewed energy.
