THIS WEEK IN THE LIFE OF VALLEY CHURCH
Today we are honoring those people in the Valley Church family who have graduated from college or who will be graduating from high school this week.  College graduates include:  Crystal Aukema (SUNY Oswego), Ian Derzanovich (Eastern Carolina University), Jon Guldenschuh and Angela Krempel (Binghamton University) and Justin Woodnorth (Alfred State College).  We wish them all God’s best as they enter their chosen careers.  High school graduates are:  Chelsea Linderoth (Chenango Forks), Katie Lowell (Chenango Valley), Paige Vermaat and Laci Williams (Greene).  They will all be heading out of the area for college next fall.  We wish them God’s blessings as they continue their education.

Tuesday, 7:00 PM Elders meet
Thursday, 7:00 PM Prayer meeting

The second offering next Sunday will be for Project Concern.

The Lowells are having a brunch in honor of Katie’s graduation on Saturday from 11 AM till 2 PM at their home at 1198 Chenango St. in Hillcrest.  All are welcome to share this special time.

The regular spring congregational meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 26, with a prayer time at 7 and the meeting beginning at 7:30 PM.  We will be selecting new elders and deacons at that time, along with receiving ministry updates.  Nominees for elder are Doug Aukema and                   .  Deacon nominees are Greg Huck and Barb Komaromi.  Judy Crawford has agreed to extend her term as deacon.  Each church family should plan to be represented at this meeting.

You will be thrilled to know that we received follow-up cards on 18 children and young people who responded to the invitation at the Franklin Graham Festival.  Our children’s leaders are making plans for summer activities to involve these people more directly in the life of Valley Church.  If you have ideas to share on how best to do that, they plan to meet this morning right after the service.  You can talk with Debbie Harmon to share more ideas.

Dick Crawford is back home after spending last Sunday and Monday in the hospital.  Pray for healing from the pain and inflammation as well as for wisdom for doctors as they decide on further treatment options.

Tommy Thompson

Danielle Wood is doing physical therapy on her knee and is moving along with her recovery.  Thank God for his care.

Did you know that you can now hear the Sunday morning sermon on the Valley Church web site?  Check it out at www.valleycrc.com and find the link to “Recorded Sermons”.  No, this isn’t meant to give you an excuse to skip church – fellowship is an important part of church life.  But if you need to be out of town or can’t get to the service, this does give you an opportunity to stay connected to what is happening at Valley.

Next Sunday, June 24, 2007

MORNING WORSHIP:     10:00 AM   Our worship will be led by Pastor Gelder.  He will begin a summer series of messages on “Hard Sayings:  Seeing but Never Perceiving”, based on Mark 4:11-12.
