WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship
Call to Worship
Arise, shine, for your light has come!
The glory of the Lord has risen upon us.
Let us praise the Lord together.
The sun shall no longer be our light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on us,
for the Lord will be our light, and our God will be our glory.
The Lord will be our everlasting light, and our days of sorrow will end.
Come, let us sing to our light and salvation!
*Song of Praise – 481 “Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies”

Call to Confession
The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.  (John 3:19)
Let us confess our sin to God.
Prayer of Confession
God of light, we have been so blind when truth has been so clear.  When we could have looked ahead, we fell behind.  When we could have viewed the wider picture, we saw only a part.  When we could have sensed the Spirit leading, we missed the way.  Forgive our dim apprehension of love’s clear leading.  Give us faith that trusts when it cannot see, through the light that lingers when all else fails, even the bright Morning Star of our faith, Jesus Christ, the Savior.  Amen.
Assurance of Pardon – I John 1:5-7

O God, who in Jesus Christ called us out of darkness into marvelous light, enable us always to declare your wonderful deeds, thank you for your steadfast love, and praise you with heart, soul, mind, and strength, now and forever.  Amen.
*God Blesses Us
May the light of the glorious gospel of Christ shine in our hearts, transform our lives, and brighten the world.  And the blessing of God almighty, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, rest upon you always.  And God’s people said,
Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Last Wednesday was the one year anniversary of the tragic earthquake that devastated Haiti, claiming so many lives and destroying countless homes and businesses.  CRWRC has been at work, especially in Leogane, assisting families in constructing new homes.  During the offering we will view a video featuring that work.  We will be praying for the continuing work of rebuilding Haiti

Monday, 5:30 PM Growth and Renewal Team meets
Wednesday, 6:00 AM Men’s breakfast and Bible study at the Spot
9:30 AM Women’s Bible Study at
       7:00 PM Council meets

Just a reminder at the beginning of the year that, even though our 2011 church budget is nearly 5 % lower than it was in 2010, we fell short of meeting the 2010 budget.  As you plan your giving for 2011, consider prayerfully increasing your giving if your can.  Even a small increase by many people will make a significant difference.

Repeat notice about 2011 directory proofing.

NEXT SUNDAY, January 23, 2011
SUNDAY SCHOOL:  9:15 AM  Classes for all ages meet.  The adult class continues the study of the book of Daniel.  Plan to take part in a class this year.
MORNING WORSHIP:  10:30 AM  Pastor Gelder will bring us God’s Word.  He will continue the message series from the Sermon on the Mount, “Kingdom Living”.  We will look at Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18 “Who’s Watching?”
We expect at this service to commission the Pastor Search Team as they begin the work council has assigned to them.
The second offering will be for the Indonesian Christian Reformed Church in Dover, New Hampshire.  As calling church for Pastor Lapian, we also have the opportunity to provide some added financial help which this ministry can certainly use and deeply appreciates.  Give generously and be part of God’s blessing on this church.
