WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship
Welcome to Worship
Call to Worship
The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,
the world, and those who live in it;
for he has founded it on the seas,
and established it on the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
who do not lift up their souls to what is false,
and do not swear deceitfully. (Psalm 24:1-4)
*Song of Worship – 436 “This Is My Father’s World”

Call to Confession
We know that nothing is able to separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ. Let us in freedom confess the wrong we have done.
Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Through Christ, our Lord we pray. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Hear the good news!
Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun.
Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace.
Thanks be to God!

THIS WEEK IN THE LIFE OF VALLEY CHURCH
Worship this morning is led by Mr. Bill Kutz. Pastor Gelder is at Trinity CRC in Richfield Springs, NY serving Classis Atlantic Northeast as an evaluator of the sermon and service led there by Mr. Jonathan Averill, who will be examined for ministry at the March classis meeting. We thank Bill for his willingness and desire to use his gifts in bringing us God’s Word for our daily life.
The second offering this morning is an opportunity to show the love and compassion that should be a mark of the church of Jesus Christ. Pastor Jeff Voorhees was a young Christian Reformed Church pastor in Michigan who had served his second congregation for just one year when he was killed in a tragic auto accident in late 2008. He leaves behind his wife and four small children, including two who have cystic fibrosis and will have extensive medical needs throughout their lifetime. The deacons have agreed to give you an opportunity to share the burden this young mother carries. Your generous offering will help with medical and Christian school tuition costs.
Wednesday, 7:00 PM Aerobics class
Our neighbors at the First Church of Christ have invited us to join them this afternoon at 2:00 PM for the showing of the movie “Fireproof”. If you didn’t get to see the movie when it was showing in theaters or if you want to see it again, here’s a great opportunity. There will be a free-will offering and popcorn. Also, child care will be available for a donation.
Is your baby bottle getting full of your loose change? If so, you can return it any time in the next few weeks and take another bottle if you wish. All the bottles for the Life Choices Center should be returned by March 8.
We hope you can attend the annual Valentine’s dinner even if it is a bit belated this year. The dinner has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28 with punch at 6:30 PM and dinner at 7. You can sign up today to indicate your attendance and the dish you will bring.
The annual Women’s Retreat for women from the Christian Reformed Churches in upstate New York will be held on Saturday, April 25 at Community CRC in Baldwinsville. Reserve that date now.
There will be a Ladies’ Celebration Tea at Valley Church on Saturday, April 18 at 12:30 PM. More details will follow.
Youth announcements:
