WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship
*Call to Worship
O magnify the Lord with me.
Let us exalt God’s name together!
*Invocation
All-knowing and all-caring God, we gather this day drained by another week.  We are like a parched desert, empty and in need of replenishment.  Visit us with your presence, saturate us with your Spirit, bathe us in your streams of living water, and feed us at your holy table.  May our lives acknowledge and worship you to the praise and honor of Jesus Christ.
Amen.

God, we are often impatient like the people of Israel.
We want things our way and we want them in a hurry.
Forgive us when we think this way or say it out loud.
Lord, we are sinful.  Please take away our sin.
Help us to seek your way.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WE RESPOND WITH THANKSGIVING
Celebration of the Lord’s Supper
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right for us to give thanks and praise.
With joy we praise you, gracious God, for you have created heaven and earth, made us in your image, and kept covenant with us – even when we fell into sin.  We give you thanks for Jesus Christ, our Lord, who became the true Passover Lamb that was sacrificed for our salvation.  Therefore we join our voices with all the saints and angels and the whole creation to proclaim the glory of your name.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.  Hosanna in the highest.
We give thanks to God that our Savior, before he died, gave us this token of his sacrifice, to be observed until he comes again.
At is last supper, the Lord Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way, he took the cup after supper and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this in remembrance of me.”
For whenever we eat this bread and dink this cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus.
Dying, you destroyed our death;
rising, you restored our life.
Lord Jesus, come in glory.
Creator God, be present with your life-giving Word and Holy Spirit, that we and your entire church may be called out and made whole through this supper.  Grant that all who share the communion of the body and blood of your Son may be united in him.  And may we all remain faithful in love and hope until we feast joyfully with Christ at the coming of the kingdom.
Amen.
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
The gifts of God for the people of God.
The body of Christ, the bread of heaven.
Thanks be to God.
The blood of Christ, the cup of salvation.
Thanks be to God.

*God Blesses Us
Do not live by bread alone, but by the will of God.
May God give the angels charge over you;
may their hands bear you up and keep you from falling.
And God’s people said:
Amen.
