Call to Confession – Psalm 145:8-9
Prayer of Confession –
Creator God, forgive us for thinking small thoughts of you and for ignoring your immensity and greatness.
Lord Jesus, forgive us when we forget that you rule the nations and our small lives.
Holy Spirit, we offend you in minimizing your power and squandering your gifts.
We confess that our blindness to your glory, O triune God, has resulted in shallow confession, tepid conviction and only mild repentance.
Have mercy upon us.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon – Psalm 145:13b-16
Celebration of the Lord’s Supper
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right for us to give thanks and praise.
Lord our God, send your Holy spirit so that this bread and cup may be for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.  May we and all your saints be united with Christ and remain faithful in hope and love.  Gather your whole church, O Lord, into the glory of your kingdom.
Amen.
The bread that we break is a sharing in the body of Christ.
We who are many are one body, for we all share the same loaf.
The cup for which we give thanks is a sharing in the blood of Christ.
The cup that we drink is our participation in the blood of Christ.
Congregation of Jesus Christ at Valley Church, the Lord has prepared his table for all who love him and trust in him alone for their salvation.  All who have publicly professed their faith in Jesus as their Savior and Lord and who are living out that profession are now invited to come with gladness to the table of the Lord.
The gifts of God for the people of God.
The body of Christ, given for you.
Thanks be to God.
The blood of Christ, shed for you.
Thanks be to God.

THIS WEEK IN THE LIFE OF VALLEY CHURCH
This morning we will be celebrating Holy Communion as a part of our worship time.  This time of spiritual nurture is meant for all who have publicly professed faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord and who are living out that profession.  If you made your profession in another Christian church, you are welcome to eat and drink with those who are members of Valley Church.  The bread and cup will be passed to you in the pews and we will partake together after all have been served.

The second offering today is for the Valley Church CHOW Pantry.  This monetary support will supplement the food items you already bring regularly.  At times it is necessary to purchase items so we are able to provide a balanced food supply for the families that are referred to us.

Parent’s Night Out is again offered to families in the community and from Valley Church this Saturday evening.  Please note the changed hours – from 5 ‘til 8 PM.  If you plan for your children to attend, please sign the sheet on the door today or call the church office (648-8224) no later than Friday noon.  Also, take time to invite your neighbors to take advantage of this service meant to strengthen families in our area.  If you can help in any way, talk with Erin Peterson today.

Saturday, 5-8 PM   Parents’ Night Out (note time change)

In preparation for Small Group Sunday next week, you will receive a brochure along with this bulletin giving you more information about small groups at Valley Church and an invitation to consider participating in a group if you are not already involved.  Please give this your prayerful consideration.

To all our Valley Church family,
The floral arrangement you sent to honor our Mom was stunningly beautiful and deeply meaningful.  Thank you for all your love, care, cards and prayers during this time of our loss.  We felt it all through this week.
With our love,
Al, Jan and Betsy Gelder
(for the entire Henrietta Gelder family)
