WE RESPOND WITH THANKSGIVING
We Celebrate the Lord’s Supper
           The Lord be with you.
           And also with you.
           Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right for us to give thanks and praise.
So now, with all the powers of heaven and earth, we proclaim the glory of your name.
Holy, holy, holy Lord,
God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
According to his commandment,
We remember his death,
we proclaim his resurrection,
we await his coming in glory.
Lord, our God, send your Holy Spirit so that this bread and cup may be for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.
The bread that we break is a sharing in the body of Christ.
We who are many are one body, for we all share the same loaf.
The cup for which we give thanks is a sharing in the blood of Christ.
The cup that we drink is our participation in the blood of Christ.
The gifts of God for the people of God.
The body of Christ, given for you.
Thanks be to God.
The blood of Christ, shed for you.
Thanks be to God.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
This morning we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper, receiving this gift Jesus left behind for his family.  If you have publicly professed that Jesus is your Savior and are living in his service, please receive the bread and cup as they are passed to you in the pews.  We will eat and drink together after all have been served.

The second offering this morning is for Christian Reformed Home Missions.  In addition to supporting church planting efforts across the US and Canada, Home Missions also offers help to mission-focused churches as they seek to impact their communities for the Kingdom of God and to Christian campus ministries in various communities.  Your generous support will impact many lives on this continent with the grace of Christ.

Monday, 7:00 PM Growth and Renewal Team meets

Mabel Benedict is in need of our prayers as she deals with an infection as well as confusion and agitation.  Pray that she will sense God’s loving presence.

Pastor Gelder thanks the congregation for their prayers and cards and e-mails.  Thank God with him for a successful surgery and a good recovery.

The annual summer church picnic will be held next Sunday after morning worship.  Sign up today to let the Fellowship Team know how many plan to attend and what food items you will bring.

As we continue to offer a modified children’s worship time during July and August, we need your help.  We need two people each Sunday (perhaps one adult and one teen) to supervise.  Thanks to those who signed up last week.  There are still many opportunities for you to take part.  See the sign up sheet on the table in the entry.

The Sea to Sea Bike Tour continues to make its way across the country, raising awareness and money to help end the cycle of poverty.  You can follow the tour on-line at www.SeatoSea.org.  Also, check your mail slot for the weekly report we are distributing there.  And pray for a big outpouring of support for CHOW locally as the tour approaches Binghamton in late August.

Youth Announcements:
There are eight youth and three “more mature youth” who are leaving this afternoon at 5:30 PM for a camping and river rafting trip that is also designed to help the group to become more cohesive and to do some planning for next year’s youth program.  Pray for their safety, for a good time on the river, and for lots of good ideas.

NEXT SUNDAY, July 20, 2008

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  There are NO Sunday School classes until September 7.

MORNING WORSHIP:     10:00 AM  Pastor Gelder will be with us, continuing the summer series on the Lord’s Prayers.  The message is “Whose Kingdom Are You Working For?” based on Matthew 6:10a.
