WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship
Call to Worship –
When Moses gathered the people of Israel, God said,
“I am the Lord you God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.”
As we gather here today, let us worship the Lord, who continues to be our God and who still brings us out of the places of our bondage.

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper
With thanksgiving, let us offer God our grateful praise.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right for us to give thanks and praise.
With joy we praise you, gracious God, for you created heaven and earth, made us in your image, and kept covenant with us – even when we fell into sin. We give you thanks for Jesus Christ, our Lord, who by his life, death and resurrection opened to us the way of everlasting life. Therefore we join our voices with all the saints and angels and the whole creation to proclaim the glory of your name.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might; heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Therefore we proclaim our faith as signed and sealed in this sacrament.
Christ has died,
Christ is risen,
Christ will come again.
Lord, our God, send your Holy Spirit so that this bread and cup may be for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. May we and all your saints be united with Christ and remain faithful in hope and love.
Amen.
The bread that we break is a sharing in the body of Christ.
We who are many are one body, for we all share the same loaf.
The cup for which we give thanks is a sharing in the blood of Christ.
The cup that we drink is our participation in the blood of Christ.
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
The gifts of God for the people of God.
The body of Christ, given for you.
Thanks be to God.
The blood of Christ, shed for you.
Thanks be to God.

Postlude
Today is Veterans’ Day, a time when as a grateful nation we acknowledge the sacrifices made by so many people who have served our nation in the armed forces, whether in times of war or peace. As a church, we add our voices of thanks today. It is also appropriate that around the world today many churches are in prayer for the persecuted church. Thank you, veterans, for protecting our right to worship freely.
We will be celebrating Holy Communion this morning. If you have publicly professed faith in Jesus as your personal Savior and if you are seeking to live a life that pleases God, you are welcome to receive the elements as they are passed and to eat and drink with us when all have been served.

Our Valley Church Thanksgiving Eve worship service will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 7:30 PM. If you are going to be in the area for Thanksgiving, plan to join us as we give thanks to God for all the blessings of another year.
The deacons appreciate your support of the annual Thanksgiving basket project. Please bring the food items to church no later than next Sunday so the baskets can be packed and delivered to needy families in the area in time for Thanksgiving.
Thank you for your support of the “shoebox project” of Operation Christmas Child. Next Sunday we will recognize the Sunday School students who led this project and will send the boxes on their way with our prayers.
Continue to pray for speedy recovery and full healing for Dot Simonds, Debbie Harmon and Danielle Wood following their recent surgeries. Beth Cunningham’s surgery was rescheduled for this week Tuesday at Crouse Memorial Hospital in Syracuse. Pray that the surgery will happen as scheduled and that it will successfully remove any malignancy.
We extend our Christian sympathy to Marilyn and Harry Myers and family on the death of Marilyn’s mother, Jessie Eichhorn. Services were held last Thursday in Nichols. May they find much peace in God’s promises of eternal life for those who love Jesus.
