Let us worship God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ.
We are new creations; the old has gone, the new has come!

Through us and through our worship may we announce the good news to all.
Let us worship God in spirit and in truth.
Praise God!  We are reconciled, redeemed, renewed!

A Call to Peace and Hope

People:  Romans 5:6-8
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

THIS WEEK IN THE LIFE OF VALLEY CHURCH
The second offering today is for the Indonesian Christian Reformed Church in Dover, New Hampshire.  As calling church for Pastor Lapian, we are concerned not only to pray for this ministry but also to be generous in our financial support.  Many of the people touched by this ministry are recent immigrants to this country who are not yet financially set themselves and who are helping support family members back in Indonesia.

If you have been filling one of the baby bottles with your loose change, it’s time to return it to church.  We plan to turn in the bottles and money to the All Women’s Help Center this week, so please bring yours back ASAP.

Tuesday, 7:00 PM Growth and Renewal Team meets
Wednesday, 11:30 AM Women’s Luncheon at Cracker Barrel
Thursday, 7:30 PM Worship Ministry Team meets
Saturday, 5-8 PM Parents’ Night Out

Parents’ Night Out this Saturday evening will have an early Easter theme.  This ministry continues to be a big help to families with young children, giving parents a break and giving children a fun and safe place to be for a few hours.  If your children are going to attend, please sign them up today.  If you can help with an activity or even with part of the time, please let Erin Peterson know today.

ROUND UP FOR CHOW:
When you shop at any Giant Market in our area you can help CHOW feed the hungry by asking the cashier to “round-up” your total to the nearest dollar for CHOW.  CHOW uses the money raised in the “Round-Up” program to supplement the nonperishable food we give out in our pantries with perishable items such as milk, eggs, fresh fruit, and meat.  The Giant Markets keep an account for CHOW from the money raised this way.  Persons using the pantries are given coupons for perishable items to present to the Giant Markets with the cost of the items being taken from that account.  So when you’re shopping at the Giant, remember to tell the cashier to “Round-Up for CHOW.”

Dick Crawford had a heart catheterization on Wednesday.  Pray for his speedy recovery.

Next Sunday, March 18, 2007

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  9:45 AM Sunday School classes for all ages.  The adults are involved in a four-week video study of the book by Bill Hybels Just Walk Across the Room.  It’s not too late to start attending this short series which will encourage us to build relationships with people who do not yet know Jesus.  It fits in very well with our participation in the Franklin Graham Festival.

MORNING WORSHIP:     11:00 AM   Our worship will be led by Pastor Gelder.  He will continue the series of messages for Lent which will center on biblical passages that mention tears.  The theme for this week will be “Holy Tears:  Blessed Weeping” based on Luke 6:21 and 25.
