We who are many are one body, for we all share the same loaf.
The cup for which we give thanks is a sharing in the blood of Christ.
The cup that we drink is our participation in the blood of Christ.
Holy Father, in thanks for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ,
in the joy of his resurrection,
in the hope of his coming again,
we present ourselves a living sacrifice
and come to the table of our Lord.
The gifts of God for the people of God.
The body of Christ, given for you.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Today we celebrate the Lord’s Supper as part of our worship. Let us give thanks to God for caring for us so much that he left us this observance of the saving death and resurrection of Jesus so we can regularly be strengthened in our faith walk. Receiving the bread and cup and then eating and drinking after all have been served is for all those who have at some time in a Christian church publicly professed a personal faith in Jesus as lord and savior.
In recognition of Mother’s Day, at the close of the service children will hand out flowers to all the adult women in the church. Moms, you are certainly a blessing to us all. Many of us came to know the love of God best through your example and words.
The second offering today is for Valley Church’s youth ministry and specifically to help with expenses for the work camp trip planned for this summer for youth and their adult leaders.

Next Sunday morning you will have an opportunity to participate in the annual “Offering of Letters” presented by Bread for the World. There will be a DVD about this year’s focus, which is to urge Congress and the administration to fix US foreign aid so it is more effective in reducing hunger and poverty. The deacons will have sample letters to help you with writing, along with coffee and donuts as you write.
Danielle Wood’s father is in a rehab hospital following his spinal stroke. Pray that he can partially compensate for his lower body paralysis and for him and the family as they deal with this sudden change in life. Pete will help to modify his home to make it more accessible for him.
