WE ENTER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE
Preparation for Worship
Call to Worship –
I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, saying,
“Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
Today our voices join this ongoing heavenly hymn of praise. In Jesus’ name, let us worship God.
*Opening Praise – 454 “Now Thank We All Our God”
*God Greets Us
*We Greet Each Other
*Continuing Praise – “Holiness”
Call to Confession –
Christ calls us to share the heavenly banquet of his love with all the saints in earth and heaven. Prompted by the Spirit, confessing our sin and resolving to live in holiness, Christ’s Spirit will work in us to make us ready for that day of joy, unity and praise. Let us now confess our sins to God.
Prayer of Confession
Eternal God, in every age you have raised up men and women to live and die in faith. Forgive our indifference to your will. You have commanded us to speak, but we have been silent. You have called us to do what is just, but we have been fearful. Have mercy on us, your faithless servants. Keep before us faithful people for us to follow so that, living with courage and love, we may inherit the kingdom promised in Jesus Christ, and reign with him forever. Amen.
*Song of Assurance – “Before the Throne of God Above”
Children’s Time
Prayer for Illumination
Scripture Reading – Ephesians 3:14-21

WE RESPOND WITH THANKSGIVING AND SERVICE
Celebration of the Lord’s Supper
Friends, this is the joyful feast of the people of God!
People will come from east and west, from north and south, and sit at table in the kingdom of God.
We take this food gladly, announcing as we eat that Jesus is our life and that he shall come again to call us to the Supper of the lamb.
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right for us to give thanks and praise.
With joy we praise you, gracious God, for you created heaven and earth, made us in your image, and kept covenant with us through every generation – even when we fell into sin.
We give you thanks for Jesus Christ, our Lord, who by his life, death, and resurrection opened to us the way of everlasting life. Therefore we join our voices with all the saints and angels and the whole creation to proclaim the glory of your name.
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Now we join our voices with those of every generation, proclaiming our faith as signed and sealed in this sacrament.
Christ has died,
Christ is risen,
Christ will come again.
Lord our God, send your Holy Spirit so that our receiving of this bread and cup may be our receiving of Christ. May we and all your saints be united with Christ and remain faithful in hope and love. Gather your whole church, O Lord, into the glory of your kingdom. Remind us of the breadth of your church, far beyond our congregation, our denomination, our time and place. Joining our voices with all parts of Christ’s church, we pray in the name of Jesus, who taught us to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven....
The bread that we break is a sharing in the body of Christ
We who are many are one body, for we all share the same loaf.
The cup for which we give thanks is a sharing in the blood of Christ.
The cup that we drink is our participation in the blood of Christ.
People of God, the Lord has prepared his table for all who love him and trust in him alone for their salvation. All who are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Savior, and who desire to live in obedience to him as Lord are now invited to come with gladness to the table of the Lord.
The gifts of God for the people of God.
The body of Christ, given for you.
Thanks be to God.
The blood of Christ, shed for you.
Thanks be to God.

THIS WEEK IN THE LIFE OF VALLEY CHURCH
Today we conclude our three-week celebration of God’s blessings in the life of the Christian Reformed Church over the past 150 years, celebrating “Grace through Every Generation”. While we remember past blessings and rejoice in God’s daily care, we must also rededicate ourselves to continuing service as the people of God.
The second offering this morning is for Calvin Theological Seminary’s Ministry Incentive program. This assists seminary students with loans that are forgiven after several years of ministry in the Christian Reformed Church and offers significant financial help to people on their way to ministry.
The NYPENN Franklin Graham Festival concludes at 4:00 this afternoon at the Binghamton University Event Center. Pray that God’s Word sung and preached this afternoon will touch many people with a Spirit-fueled desire to follow Jesus. Then pray for all the ongoing follow-up work which many churches will be doing to encourage and incorporate new believers into the life of the body of Christ. God’s work here has just begun.
Thursday, 7:00 PM Prayer meeting
Reserve Tuesday evening, June 26 for the spring congregational meeting. There will be a prayer meeting at 7:00 PM, followed by the congregational meeting at 7:30 PM.
Reminder: Next Sunday we begin our summer worship schedule with morning worship at 10 AM instead of 11. We will also be honoring our graduates at that service. If you know one of the graduates on the list will NOT be at the service, please tell Pastor Gelder this week.
The annual Synod of the Christian Reformed Church continues this week in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pray for wisdom as the delegates deliberate on important issues that have the potential to advance (or hinder) the mission of the church.
Willis Thompson will be traveling to Buffalo later this week for medical consultations to decide treatment options for the malignancy discovered in recent testing. Pray for a peaceful spirit for Tommy and Edele in this time of uncertainty.
Next Sunday, June 17, 2007 Graduation Sunday
MORNING WORSHIP: 10:00 AM Our worship will be led by Pastor Gelder. The message this week will be “Our Goal in Life” based on Philippians 3:20-21.
